Ignite Bermuda is Bermuda’s leading privately funded business accelerator for entrepreneurs and community leaders. Ignite requires an energetic, inspiring, and commercial Communications & Administration Officer to work with our management team, entrepreneurs, and volunteer committee members providing administrative support within the collaborative workspace at our hub in Hamilton. This integral position will help to support and expand Ignite’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Reporting to the Accelerator Executive Director and liaising with the Board, local stakeholders and in partnership with our international partners; Entrepreneurial Spark, you will:

  • Provide support for the day to day running of the accelerator hub, which would include 
    • Coordinating schedules, arranging meetings, distributing memos and reports, and ensuring that everyone is kept current of necessary company news and information
    • Organising company governance records, ensuring the confidentiality and security of files, and filing systems
    • Overseeing department budgets and ensuring the inventory of office supplies is well maintained
    • Supporting and assisting with the delivery of our core program 
  • Liaison and communication with Ignite’s mentor, outcome measurement and angel investor networks. Planning events and seminars for mentors and angels to interact with our entrepreneurs
  • Management of Ignite’s outreach and communications channels to all stakeholder groups (including various social media platforms and website 
  • Management of the relationship with our commercial marketing services provider
  • Assist in the creation of a trusted, inclusive, and supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Bermuda
  • Act as an ambassador and support staff at key events.
  • Grow, develop, and build skills to ensure future career opportunities

You will have the experience and professionalism to be an effective communicator who can adapt your style and approach to different people and situations. You will be adept in technology, with resourcefulness to plan and execute detail-orientated projects. 

A passion for entrepreneurship is a must, as is a can-do attitude, which you will demonstrate through your drive, enthusiasm, and passion for getting the best out of your colleagues and cohort of entrepreneurs.
